Left the dock around 9 am with Sparse Grey and Bugsy. After gathering some pilchards and pinfish we headed North into the back country. Almost as soon as we cut the engine I hooked a nice speckled trout that made the slot.
Then it was nothing but jacks and ladyfish so we made a move. In short order Bert bagged a nice Mutton.
Then it was Ron’s turn and after a really nice fight he brings in…. a Bonefish? I mean, come on !
Each drift produced something. We a steady action on a variety of fish including Mangroves, a porgy and the usual grunts, jacks, ladyfish and undersized grouper.
Since we all had things to do in the afternoon we were back at the dock a little after noon after a few perfect hours on the water.
Dinner tonight? Speckled Trout (one of Susan’s Favorites) with a side of Mangrove Snapper. YUM!
